@shahin_hazamy says, “On Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 6:14 in the morning, officers of the Search and Response Brigade (BRI) accompanied by members of the Departmental Service of the Judicial Police (SDPJ 93) violently broke down the door of my home while we were sleeping. This brutal intrusion has left a real trauma for my family: my two young children (1 and 3 years old) and my 4-month-old pregnant wife, who was violently plastered against a wall by law enforcement. While my 3-year-old son was sleeping next to me, I was brutally slammed to the ground by BRI officers, handcuffed and then punched, including the back of the head and lower back. A police officer held my neck to the ground with the help of his knee for long minutes, preventing me from breathing properly, before another punched me in the chest while I was still handcuffed. These abuses could have killed me. I suffer from severe respiratory problems from a premature birth and over a dozen surgeries on my throat and abdomen. Despite the screams of my companion alerting about my health, the violence persisted. My children were deeply marked by this scene, especially my 3 year old son, who witnessed my aggression first hand. They have been waking up crying every night since. My home was raided all the way. Confiscated: my personal and professional phones, my journalist work equipment, my wife’s computer equipment, and my children’s tablets — all confiscated until judgement day. I immediately presented my press card, my payslips and official attestations from recognized French media. Despite this, I was remanded for more than 48 hours, then transferred to the Bobigny Court Depot, where I was detained for nearly 20 hours.”
